Jessica and Donald

Weddings

Jessica and I started talking in August of 2010 for her May 2011 wedding and we began emailing fast and furious. It was like a pen-pal, and the best kind, sending photos and ideas back and forth, each of our excitement growing with each new possibility and idea. At our first meeting we came up with the idea of using vintage boxes and wood slabs for the cupcakes, it looked so interesting against the clean modern back-drop of stunning Belle Mer.

Jessica and I have very similar taste so it was a real treat for me to create her florals and props for her wedding. The weather was glorious and Jess was drop-dead gorgeous. Her bouquet was light tones of peaches and yellows with succulents and lots of texture, detailed with a twine wrapping. One of my favorite bouquets I have ever made…

junior bridesmaid’s nosegay;

Her sister’s bouquet, the lovely maid of honor;

The ring bearer carried a bird-nest on a flat stone, filled with moss;

The flower girl carried moss wrapped in rustic wire and a single bloom detail (nice option for very little ones, she was 1.5 and needed something light-weight);

Petals in handmade paper cones with a vintage peony printed inside  to “toss”

Escort card table was dotted with candles and succulents while birch branches with slits held the place cards;(all birch from the RI flower show, I saved and re-used)

One of my favorite pictures from the day, so much joy in both of our faces;) Please excuse my bobby-pin malfunction~ Ha!

Now on to the Ceremony… A stunning arch made from cedar and twisting branches, from Peckham’s Greenhouse (thanks Rick!) with heirloom roses, silver brunia, succulents and grapewood added to it,

To the reception we go…..!!!

The centerpieces where textural and flowing, a mix of highs and lows,  with peach’s and yellows, green and silver accents and textural nuances….The table numbers where  birch slabs that where hand burned. Made by the talented and kind folks at The Vermont Branch Company, a small family business that I had a lovely experience working with and highly recommend them!

The coral charm peonies where breath-taking…

The poppies where not so bad themselves…

All of these stunning photographs where taken by Tobias Goulet, a very talented friend of greenlion’s;)

Shout out to Joslin at Belle Mer who can handle anything a bride or groom throws at her, Jess and Donald’s wedding went flawlessly!!
