Manzanita Branches, Artichokes & Succulents!

Weddings

Branches, succulents, botanicals: Probably three of my favorite things! When the bride to be started the conversation on florals with those three words, my heart fluttered. I knew we were in sync.

After chatting and looking at images, we decided on low, texturally rich, asymmetrical combinations with manzanita branches in the center and one blue delphinium rising above. The colors of the wedding were blue and brown. To tie that in at reception we used the brown of the manzanita with the rich blue of the delphinium anchored by a bed of succulents, protea, artichoke, vanilla beans and interesting greens.

The bride carried protea, orange callas and succulents with green accent. The bridesmaid bouquets were slightly different with the focal point being on one flower from the bride’s bouquet. It was bright and unique. The staff at Belle Mer raved when I brought them up to the bridal suite.

For the ceremony, we used two 3 ft. tall black pots (matte finish) with obelisks making it well over 8 feet tall, with an ivory tulle connecting and framing the ceremony site:
